TaylorMade R11 Driver

If you are looking for a new driver this year, the TaylorMade R11 driver will get your attention fast.   The stark white crown and black face of the driver really get noticed.  TaylorMade is continuing their progression in the "R Series" drivers and the R11 is by far the best one yet.  We were able to hit the R11 driver last week in our stores and pretty much every employee was blown away.  The sheer amount of customization options on this driver is incredible. 

You can change the loft, face angle, and flight path of the club with 3 easy adjustments.  I changed the driver from neutral to a slight draw in about 20 seconds...very easy to use.  The white finish is actually very cool looking, especially if you put it down right next to a driver with a traditional black crown.

The TaylorMade R11 Driver is available in early February and we are taking pre-orders for this driver in-store and online.

Black Friday is just around the corner and Nike is set to release the new 2011 Nike SQ Machspeed Black driver.  A black driver on Black Friday...

The new Nike SQ Machspeed Black driver is available in a round or square head-shape and features Nike's patented STR8-Fit hosel.  This technology allows golfers allows the golfer to put the head in 8 possible positions resulting in 8 different shot shapes.  So if you have a tendency to fade (or slice!) the ball...you can adjust the clubhead to a closed position to square up the club face at impact for a straighter and longer drive.  The SQ Machspeed Black driver has a very sleek look (with the black head and face) and really sets up great at address.  If your looking for a really easy to hit driver with full adjustability, I would recommend looking at the Nike SQ Machspeed Black drivers today.

Callaway Diablo Octane Driver

Looking for a new driver?  Look no further than the new Callaway Diablo Octane Driver.  The Diablo Octane driver is 8 yard longer than titanium (according to Callaway player testing 2010).  The new Diablo Octane driver is fueled by Forged Composite, a unique new material from Callaway that allows superior distribution of clubhead mass, compared with all-titanium drivers.

We were able to see and try out this driver last week and I can honestly tell you that it was a hit with our staff.  The shape of the head is great and really exudes confidence at address.  Probably the biggest compliment was the sound...most other composite drivers have a "dead" sound but the Diablo Octane did not.  It sounded just like a traditional titanium driver.  As far as performance goes, I was very impressed.  The Diablo Octane was just as long or longer than any other driver we tested that day.

TaylorMade Burner 2.0 Irons

Did anyone watch the TaylorMade new product launch webcast on Thursday 9/9/10?  This is the first time, that I can at least remember, that a golf manufacturer has announced a major product launch via webcast online.  I though it was pretty cool...only like 12 minutes long.  Short and sweet!

The biggest announcement of the TaylorMade webcast is the new 2011 TaylorMade Burner 2.0 iron.  The Burner 2.0 iron set is replacing the extremely popular Burner 09 irons.  The Burner 2.0 irons will be released in the beginning of October 2010.  You can pre-order them now if you'd like to...

Ping Womens Faith Driver

LPGA Star Morgan Pressel Appearance at Carl's Golfland

New FootJoy Golf Shoes

As we get closer to the end of the summer, we are starting to see some new products that are available now and some later this year.  One of the most anticipated annual releases is the new FootJoy Golf Shoe line. 

At Carl's Golfland, we were enough to see this entire line a couple weeks ago and it looks wonderful.  Some new styles for men and women and really great color combinations too.

TaylorMade Ghost Putter

The response from the release of the TaylorMade Rossa Ghost Putter has been amazing.  The Ghost putter debuted in our stores in early June and what a month it has been. 

If you've never seen the Ghost before...don't be afraid!  First of all, the putter it almost completely white.  This white color contrasts very nicely against the green to make it easier to see the topline and alignment aids of the putter.  The 3 black alignment lines of the Ghost putter make it very simple to aim and drain more putts.

We've found that the stark contrast of the white color along with the mallet design make the Ghost putter a very nice addition to the TaylorMade putter line for 2010.
